La Casa del Escritor is a cultural cooperative sponsoring a literacy program for Tzotzil-Tzeltal Maya speakers. They publish Tzotzil-Tzeltal/Spanish booklets, produce radio programs on culture and ecology, and sponsor a woman's cooperative.
